Religious Communication, Interaction and Transformation in a Culture of Digitality

We are pleased to announce the publication of our new open-access edited volume "Religious Communication, Interaction and Transformation in a Culture of Digitality" presenting research findings from the first phase (2021–2024) of the interdisciplinary University Research Priority Program (URPP) Digital Religion(s).

The volume brings together contributions from different disciplines, including theology, religious studies, linguistics and computational linguistics, sociology, media and communication studies, and law.

Reflecting the work of the program’s first phase, the articles explore from multiple disciplinary perspectives how individual and institutional religious actors communicate in different fields of digital religious practice and assert their public claim for orientation, and they address the main research question of how current digitalisation dynamics influence, shape and transform the religious practices of individuals and institutions.

The edited volume is published open access and is freely available to all interested readers on the website of De Gruyter Brill.
