17.09.2025: Symposium "Digital Islam"

Digitality is now central to many people's daily lives and religiosities. It shapes communication, belief, action, and interaction, redefining time and space while enabling new forms of engagement, surveillance, and influence. It also fosters new social spaces, communities, and roles like bloggers and online preachers.

A symposium on September 17th, 2025, at the University of Zurich will explore the intersection of digitality and contemporary Islam from diverse perspectives.

You can find the program of the symposium here (PDF, 858 KB).

If you would like to participate as part of the in-person audience (no digital streaming for reasons of confidentiality and presenters’ security), you are very welcome to register beforehand with your name and affiliation until August 31th via Marie Jäckel.

The symposium is organized by Marie Jäckel, Mira Menzfeld and Dominik Müller
