Katja Valaskivi is Professor of Religious Studies and Media Research and heads the Helsinki Research Hub on Religion, Media, and Social Change (Heremes) at the University of Helsinki.
She specializes in the datafication and mediatization of religions, belief systems, worldviews, and ideologies, and has developed multi-method approaches to studying disruptive, hybrid media events such as terror attacks and natural disasters.
