This project explores the dual impact of legal norms, both secular and ecclesiastical, on digital practices within religious communities. By shifting focus from limitations to enabling aspects of digital religious practices, this project delves into institutional challenges arising from the growing significance of said practices. In addition, this project examines the potential changes to the institutional identity of religious communities, particularly within ecclesiological self-descriptions, utilizing religious rights. This deepens the inquiries from the first phase while highlighting the role of AI. The scope expands to include norm-building processes in Judaism and Islam for a comparative analysis, broadening the horizon beyond the initial focus on Christian churches in Switzerland and Germany.
