Digital Spiritual Care
Project A3
This project explores new digital practices of pastoral care in Europe and the USA using case studies, questionnaire surveys and other research methods from the fields of theology and social science. The study will focus in particular on innovative concepts of specialized spiritual care in the context of digital healthcare; the use of technical infrastructures such as electronic patient files and telehealth platforms by those providing pastoral care; the needs of patients in digital care models, and the professional skills required by those providing pastoral care in digital healthcare institutions.
The project is committed to an interdisciplinary, interprofessional and participatory approach. We are developing and imparting practical basic knowledge in cooperation with European and American partners. In addition to scientific publications, we promote exchange between research and practice through conferences and workshops, the organization of working groups with practitioners and professional associations, and the development of guidelines and competence models.
As part of Cluster A and in conjunction with the «MEEET Lab», this project also addresses technologies such as virtual reality, artificial intelligence and research methods in computational linguistics.
