Emerging Technologies (Cluster A)

Cluster A engages with the interplay between digital religion/spirituality, images of human beings, and emerging technologies, exploring this dynamic intersection through four sub-studies linked to specific projects.

At the core of this cluster lie overarching research questions, interwoven with cross-cutting themes: How are religious and spiritual practices and images of human beings evolving amid the emergence of digital technologies? Which values, biases, and social norms do they encode, and which philosophical, religious, and ethical traditions do they reflect? How do these changes affirm or disrupt existing empirical and theoretical debates? How should these changes be interpreted and brought into constructive-critical dialog with theological an- thropology?

Through an integrative approach, this cluster explores the implications of these changes on concepts like the human being, religious and spiritual practices, and societal values, biases, and norms.
